About My Practice

I work as a homeopath from my home in Haslingfield. My practice has grown largely by word of mouth and through referrals from other healthcare professionals since qualifying in 2003. I am a fully insured, registered member of the Society of Homeopaths (www.homeopathy-soh.org). The purpose of the register is to provide the public with a list of practitioners who have demonstrated their commitment to ethical and professional practice and maintain their professional competence on a continuing basis.

Over the years I have had the joy of treating whole families. Often one member will consult me and others follow over time. I am often found by pregnant women and see them through the challenges of pregnancy.   Homeopathy can play a very useful role in infant health and it is rewarding to work with babies. I have two grown up children and am a wife. I continually learn so much from my family which I bring to bear on my work. Whenever one of us is below par it has a knock-on effect on all of us. This is something I see in my work as a homeopath. Addressing the needs of one family member makes the whole so much stronger.

People who have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression and stress come to see me about their symptoms. Working with people experiencing grief and loss is an important part of my practice.

I’m also commonly consulted about hormonal problems and allergic and skin conditions but I see a wide variety of people from all walks of life and of all ages with many different health problems.

The most important factor is that each person is treated as a unique individual and their body, mind, spirit and emotions are all considered in the management and prevention of disease. This is the essence of holistic therapy.

What to Expect at a Consultation

Before seeing someone for the first time, I like to have a brief chat to establish that homeopathy is appropriate. This usually happens by phone. Sometimes I ask people to delay seeing me in order for test or x-ray results to come through. I may ask them to visit their GP for a diagnosis first. Throughout treatment I strongly believe in working alongside conventional health professionals.

Allow up to two hours if you’re an adult and this is your first consultation. Sometimes we won’t need that long but there’s usually a lot to talk about. Follow-up appointments take between half an hour and an hour. A child consultation can take up to an hour with follow-ups taking half that time.

In order to find the remedy that most closely matches your symptoms, I will need to know quite a lot. A detailed understanding of who you are, along with any complaints and details of how you experience them, is needed. Anything you can tell me that is typical of who you are will help with this process. It is important to find out about your general energy level, the way you live and your past medical history too.

Following the consultation, I will arrange for your remedy to be sent directly from Helios, one of the homeopathic pharmacies along with the instructions for taking it. I offer you the chance to receive a written analysis and we’ll agree together a timescale for monitoring how helpful the remedies are and when a follow-up consultation will be needed.

The process of getting back to good health is a dynamic and interactive one and I like to hear from you regularly along the way. For this reason my fees include a charge to cover time spent on the phone or email with me between consultations.
